A Voice for Senate District 2

Songtree Pioche is Taos Pueblo and Oglala Lakota. She, her husband Sanchez (Navajo) reside in Bloomfield. They have 4 children, 3 young adults (Tristan, Cheyenne and Cash) and one school aged child Sanchez Jr 

Having lived in San Juan County for over two decades, her commitment to this community runs deep. Her public service record and achievements in those roles show her passion for community building. Throughout her career, she has worked in human resources at the tribal, state, federal and corporate settings. Pivoting post-pandemic into education, where she worked diligently through graduate school and a rigorous Native American teacher preparation program to obtain her teaching license in elementary education K-8. Songtree proudly teaches 5th grade in Farmington. Songtree continues to serve our community and advocate on various committees and commissions for equitable opportunities for all.
